And we were a slippin' and a slidin'

I had the opportunity yesterday to do something that I hadn't done in 22 years. I slipped, flipped, raced and chased down a swirling, twirling vortex of water. Wow, was it fun! Exciting times at a good old fashioned water park! The kids had a blast too. We went with our friends the Crouse's and the Nadreau's. Caroline being her ever adventuresome self went on a variety of slides and rides. (some of which she technically wasn't tall enough to go on). Whooping and hollering the whole way. For being such an itty bitty thing, she sure doesn't exhibit much fear when it comes to going fast and furious (I'm so glad we have over 7 years until she can drive!)

Jack's first ride of the day was a really long water slide where he and I were in a raft together. As soon as the ride started, he said, "I think I'm going to be sick". Don't worry he didn't get sick. The majority of the ride was in a pitch-black tunnel that he definetely did NOT like. His eyes were wide as saucers and he was absolutely SILENT the entire ride. When we got off he said, "That just freaks me out".
But the next slide he went on was actually faster, twistier (a new word I just made up) and far more thrilling, but it "didn't have a lid on it". All the way down he was pumping his fist saying, "Oh Yeah, Oh Yeah!" When we got off that ride he said, "That was totally awesome!" (we went on that ride two times).
All the kids were so good and got along really well. They loved playing in the kids play area and at Tree House Island (although the water was freezing, I should know - it was dumped on my head a couple of times!) Our summer of vacationing in Atlanta is going strong and we are having a blast doing it. The kids actually prefer to eat a picnic lunch we pack and have been really good about not asking for souvenirs everywhere we go! I'm enjoying all the fun memories we are creating. Next week we're off to Fernbank Science Museum and Planetarium!
